FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
Assist the Student Activities Department staff with general office processes while maintaining confidentiality of all student records. A good candidate should show initiative, creativity and have a friendly personality. Must be dependable, responsible, flexible and can work independently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General office duties including answering the telephone and taking accurate concise messages.

Assist with the daily office operation as determined by Student Activities Coordinator
Maintain administrative office tasks such as; filing, running errands, phone calls, data entry and computing
Assist with events sponsored by the Student Activities Office including setting up and tearing down after events

Assist with the advertising, promotion for the Student Activities programs such as; posting fliers around campus, poster making, painting banners/signs

Assisting with upkeep of the ping pong dispenser and ping pong/pool/hockey/fuzz ball tables, etc.

Assist students with table games’ equipment check-out process.

Other duties as reasonably assigned by Student Activities staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Must display professionalism and confidentiality in all matters

Must be able to communicate by telephone on a daily basis.

Must be able to use computers.

Must be able to operate basic office equipment.

Must be able to provide and understand verbal/visual orders from supervisors.

PERSONAL INTERACTION:

Daily contact with College personnel, faculty, students, and the general public in the routine performance of duties and departmental services.

REQUIREMENTS:
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. Students participating in the Federal Work Study Program are paid minimum wage and can work up to 20 hours per week. The student is not guaranteed a set number of hours per week.
In order to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program the student must:
~ be enrolled half-time (or greater) at the College (half-time is 6cr for fall/spring and 3cr for summer),
~ be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program,
~ be in good academic standing; and
~ must have eligibility (financial need) as determined by the Free Application for Federal St
